What is website redesign?
Website redesign identifies problems with an existing site’s content, appearance or usability and updates the areas that need attention. As Selçuk Aker, I first clarify which functions will be preserved and which problems will be solved during the website redesign. Renewing does not always mean changing the domain name, all URLs or infrastructure.
When should I redesign my website?
If your site describes your services incorrectly, is difficult to use on mobile, makes content updates difficult or no longer reflects your brand, it may be time for a review. A competitor launching a new site is not, by itself, a reason to redesign yours. Information that users cannot find, problems with the form or the need for real content are concrete starting points.

When requesting to refresh the old website, instead of starting by deleting all content, we create an inventory of the existing site. If there are pages that receive search traffic or linked from other sites, this information affects the decisions. If there is no data, I wouldn't pretend there is a measured performance issue; First, I record any observable usage and content problems.
How to preserve old links when refreshing?
The first step is to list the available addresses and corresponding contents. If the address needs to be changed, each old page is permanently redirected to the most relevant new address. Sending all old addresses to the home page is not a correct match. Internal links, canonical addresses and the sitemap should also be consistent with the new structure.
