Page Title, Meta Description and Image: SEO Content Control for the Designer — Selçuk Aker

What a web page says; There should be consistency between title, description, content and image. For SEO, it is necessary to clarify which question the page answers instead of adding keywords to every space. The graphic designer works with the technical application in preparing the visible layout of this information and the associated visual assets.

Let the title describe the true scope of the page

"Catalog design" service page and "How to prepare a catalog for printing?" guide creates different expectations. Putting the same general title on all pages makes distinction difficult. If a city, profession or brand name is to be added to the title, it must have a real relationship with the content.

Google's title link document explains that multiple sources may be used for the title in the search result. It is not guaranteed that the title you wrote will be displayed exactly. The main title and the actual content on the page should be compatible with each other.

Write the meta description as a short content summary

The description should tell what the person will find on the page. Scope and approach in a service; The question answered in a guide may stand out. Ranking for the same keyword repeatedly is not a meaningful summary. According to Google's snippet guide, the description shown can also be generated from the page content according to the query.

In the description of a freelance graphic designer's page, the design works offered and the way of working can be explained instead of unverifiable promises such as "the best, definitive result in every job". The description text should not make it seem like there is a service that is not available on the page.

Consider image name and alt text with different tasks

The filename can clearly describe the image. Alternative text, on the other hand, should express the information contained in the visual. Filling in all the occupation and city variations in the alt text of a catalog page does not explain the image. Also clearly separate the representative image from the actual customer project.

The image, title, description and source file used in the designer submission can be found in the same content list. This way, the developer doesn't have to guess which file belongs to which page. Preparing appropriate files for the small card and large cover is also part of this delivery.

Let internal links answer the next question

Link to the relevant service or more detailed guide from an informational post. Instead of “Click here,” short link text describing the goal can be used. Instead of repeating the same goal in every paragraph, direct the reader where they really need it.

While preparing web design scope with Selçuk Aker, page purpose, visible title, content and images can be edited together. Crawling and index guide describes separate dimensions of technical visibility.

Frequently asked questions

Will the meta description appear exactly as it is on Google?

Not always. Depending on the query, Google may create a description that differs from the page content.

Can I put the same title on all pages?

Makes it difficult to distinguish pages. Each title should explain the subject and purpose of its content.

Is adding a keyword to the name of the image alone enough?

No. The suitability of the visual to the subject, its description, context of use and technical presentation should be evaluated together.
