Cafe logo design should leave a common mark between the name on the door of the venue and the glass in the customer's hand. The experience offered by a cafe, coffee shop or bakery is not the same. Product focus, service style and how the customer uses the space are the starting points of visual identity.
Describe the experience with concrete examples
General words such as “warm, modern, quality” can produce different results for different designers. Is it a fast takeaway service in the morning, a working environment where people sit for long periods of time, or an evening meeting that stands out? The brief explained with photographs, materials and customer scenarios is more concrete.
If the existing interior architecture will be preserved, show the colors and materials to the designer. The relationship of the logo to the surface on the wall cannot be understood from the digital color palette alone.
Readability at the cup crease
The long logo on the paper cup may not be read at a glance. Small and large cups, the area near the lid and the printing method should be tested separately. The model prepared on the flat screen does not completely replace the real product sample.
If a stamp is to be used in takeaway service, thin lines may be filled. Evaluate the monochrome version by examining the actual print sample, not just by painting the logo black. The same level of detail should not be expected to be maintained in light and dark material.
Link menu design to order flow
The menu is not a banner showing all products with the same weight. Categories, product names, descriptions and prices should create a readable sequence. Using the logo large on every page may weaken the function of the menu.
Keeping content source common for print and QR menu design makes price updates easier. Who will update the file must be determined before delivery.
Queue the boot package
Signage, glasses, menus and digital profiles may be required on the first day; Not all promotional products have to be produced at the same time. As Selçuk Aker, I propose to separate mandatory applications for opening in corporate identity design from subsequent production. Seeing samples in initial production is a stronger check than confirming the entire order with a screen mock-up alone.
Frequently asked questions
Should there be coffee beans in the cafe logo?
If the business is not limited to coffee alone, this symbol can narrow down the brand. The symbol decision should be made together with the menu, service style and future plans.
Can different logo versions be used on the sign and the glass?
Horizontal, compact and single color versions of the same identity can be prepared. If the ratio and usage rules between them are determined, consistency is maintained.
