When comparing UI/UX design prices, make sure the same service is offered. One study may include visual displays alone, another may include research, flow, and prototyping. Although the number of screens is important information in freelance UI/UX design prices, it is not sufficient on its own.
Separate UI and UX deliverables
On the UI side, visual language, components, layout and screen states can be addressed. On the UX side, studies such as user needs, task flow, information structure and testing can be found. Don't assume that all of these topics are automatically presented under a single "UI/UX" label.
The proposal should specify what research will be done, what will be taken from existing data, and what decision is expected from the customer. Visualizing the ready flow and defining the uncertain product together are different scopes.
Differences in the number of screens
A list screen can have empty, loaded, faulty, and filtered statuses. The same screen can present other actions in different user roles. In contrast, many displays can be built with common components. A simple number sometimes magnifies real labor, sometimes hides it.
Example narrow scope is the visual arrangement of several screens according to the approved flow of the current product. A wide range of flows are reconsidered, research is conducted, prototypes are tested and the design system is established. These examples are comparisons of coverage, not price packages.
What details does the developer submission include?
Component conventions, different screen widths, idle/error states, and the layout of the assets used should be explained. Giving access to the design file does not mean that every question is answered. If design control is desired during the handover meeting or development, this should also be stated.
Coding and publishing the product are not automatically included in the interface design fee. Determine from the beginning which team has this responsibility in the project.
Plan the budget with priorities
Select critical user tasks in initial release. List the streams that are postponed for later. It may be better to postpone low-priority functions to the next stage rather than completely removing necessary error and access situations to reduce the budget.
